Coffee of the Day

triple grande pumpkin spice latte

That’s right. This is a completely legal pumpkin spice latte. Huzzah!

For those of you who haven’t wandered into Starbucks yet this week (and are somehow oblivious to their anywhere and everywhere fall ad campaign) the PSL is back, baby!

I had difficulty deciding what I wanted this morning. Because what I really wanted was a pumpkin spice latte. Obviously. Until they run out of it, I’m probably going to be drinking these every other day (at least). But the thing is, it is ridiculously humid in DC. Like, really really ridiculously humid. I know the entire country is experiencing an increase in humidity because of the hurricane, but I cannot stress this to you enough: The air here is just a few molecules shy of making Washington, DC the world’s first underwater Capitol.

So even though it’s dry and chilly in my office, that block walk (or swim, rather) to Starbucks makes me want something cold. And then we get into the freezing Starbucks, and I want a PSL. So I get one, which seems like a good decision, and then the swim back to the office makes me feel like an idiot for holding such a hot beverage. But then we get into the cold office and it all makes sense again.

So really, what I’m trying to say here is that, I’m a little insane.

To apologize for forcing you to read my rant of insanity, click here for a Starbucks Living Social Deal. $5 for $10 worth of Starbucks. You’re welcome πŸ™‚

  1. if i lived in America I would be thanking you endlessly! again, this sounds absolutely delish! i’ve never ever encountered a pumpkin flavoured drink let alone coffee, you Americans, what are you like, thinking of all those weird and wonderful things πŸ˜€ is it more fruity or spicey and do you drink it hot or cold? πŸ™‚

    1. More spicy, in my opinion. Deliciousness incarnate. And gotta give England credit for one pumpkin drink: pumpkin juice – J.K. Rowling’s mention of it (in that series you’ve probably heard of) created a market for it here. It’s pretty fantastic…

    2. Yep, we Americans are creative–or crazy, whichever way you want to go with it πŸ™‚ I drink it hot. I don’t know what it is, but I can’t drink them cold.

      1. it’s weird, i’ve had some of the cold coffees from Starbucks before and I enjoy them for a while but I just can’t finish them, and yet, if a mug of instant coffee goes cold at home (rare, it’s usually gone very quickly if i’m around πŸ˜‰ ) then I have no problem drinking it, it actually kinda like it πŸ˜€ so odd

  2. Thanks just so much:( My acid reflux is killing me, and as I step out for a new phone, I have to decide on a White Chocolate Mocha, or now, the PSL. Maybe I’ll get both.

I may just die from this acid reflux afterall. (how bout them Yankees?)

    Rock on!

  3. Ah! I always kick-start my autumn with this drink! While it’s still warm, though, you should try adding pumpkin syrup to a coffee frappacino (*with whip cream*).
